Prices for potatoes, garlic, onions, and carrots continue to rise in Ukraine, reaching 200 hryvnias per kilo.


Vegetable prices in Ukraine continue to rise, significantly impacting consumer budgets. According to the Minfin portal, the cost of essential vegetables increased in March 2025.
The price of potatoes rose by 1.0% and is now 32.30 UAH/kg. However, the price of new potatoes fell from 44.90 UAH/kg to 35.90 UAH/kg, which is a positive change for consumers.
Garlic increased by 7.9% and costs 175.60 UAH/kg. White onions rose by 10.5% and cost 102.27 UAH/kg, while yellow onions decreased by 1.0%. Red onions rose by 8.9% and cost 35.90 UAH/kg.
The most significant price increase is observed in carrots. Their cost increased from 36.77 UAH/kg to 41.83 UAH/kg. In 'MegaMarket', the price of carrots is 51.30 UAH/kg, while in 'Auchan' it is 35.80 UAH/kg.
The price of vegetables affects the daily expenses of families. The average check for a vegetable basket increased by 8%, which could mean additional expenses of 100-150 UAH per month for a family of 3-4 people. The rising prices of carrots and onions, widely used in cooking, are particularly alarming.
