Parliamentary elections in Georgia: results announced
The Central Election Commission of Georgia released the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections, reports the website of Georgia's Central Election Commission.
According to preliminary data, the "Georgian Dream" leads with 53% of the votes.
Based on the processing of 68.69% of the ballots, "Dream" receives 52.94% of the votes.
According to CEC data:
- the second place is held by the "Coalition for Change" with 11.19% of the votes,
- "Unity – National" is in third place with 9.79% of the votes,
- "Strong Georgia" has about 9.05% of the votes,
- Gakhariya's party "For Georgia" has 8.26% of the votes,
- other parties do not pass the 5% threshold.
It is noted that the final results will be considered after the physical recount of the ballots.
According to preliminary data, the turnout was 58.94%, with 2,060,412 people voting. Note that the CEC does not yet have turnout data from five districts, in mountain areas, and abroad at some polling stations.
Recall that during the elections in Georgia, brawls and batch ballot stuffing were recorded.
