According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, Ukraine currently lacks missile defense systems to intercept the 'Oreshnik', but is working on their development. At present, there are limited air defense systems capable of intercepting a Russian missile, but we do not have them. Syrsky also noted that work on creating domestic missile weapons is 'actively ongoing' and he hopes to achieve the desired result in the near future.
On November 21, 2024, Russia used the 'Oreshnik' against Ukraine for the first Time, carrying out a strike on Dnipro.
