Britain, France and the USA allowed for long-range strikes on Russia.

Ukraine has received permission from the USA to use long-range ATACMS missiles with a range of 300 kilometers to attack Russian territory. This decision was made after pressure from Ukraine and marked an important turning point in military strategy.

This decision, as reported by Le Figaro citing The New York Times, was made after several months of pressure from Ukraine. An official representative of the US administration confirmed to AFP that the USA gave the green light for the use of long-range missiles.

Ukraine had previously been allowed to use SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles from France and Britain to strike Russian targets. However, the US decision means that Ukraine will receive more American missiles than French and British ones.

The Washington decision is related to increasing tensions on the front and the dispatch of 10,000 North Korean soldiers by Russia. This prompted the USA to reassess its position.

In May, Ukraine received permission to use HIMARS to defend Kharkiv against the advance of Russian forces. Now, ATACMS missiles can be used at greater distances.

This decision was made two months before the transfer of power from Joe Biden to Donald Trump. There are rumors that Trump may reduce military aid to Ukraine. Previously, the USA avoided escalation due to the potential consequences for the global oil market.

ATACMS missiles can be used to fend off the advance of 50,000 soldiers, including North Koreans, in the Kursk region. Ukrainian troops are located there.
