In Portuguese, the words for grenade and pomegranate sound almost the same. That’s why, using a translator on the phone, the tourist literally said he had a grenade.
The waiter perceived this message as a threat and called the police. They arrived at the restaurant within a few minutes and arrested the waiter. After that, he was taken to the police station. Then, they searched his room and only released him after finding no grenade.
