The Ukrainian national wrestling team took third place at the U20 European Championship.


The Ukrainian national wrestling team participated in the U20 European Championship in Caorle, Italy. According to the portal
Glavkom, our team took third place in the overall standings. Ukrainian athletes showed the following results:
- Viktor Borohan (65 kg) – silver.
- Andriy Shokalyuk (61 kg) – bronze.
Unfortunately, our team only lost to Georgia and Azerbaijan.
Impressive achievements in Greco-Roman wrestling
It is also worth noting the enormous success of the Ukrainian Greco-Roman wrestling team at the U20 European Championship. Our athletes secured third place in the overall standings and won seven medals:
- Yegor Yakushenko (97 kg) and Vladislav Pokotilo (67 kg) – silver.
- Pavlo Toryanyk (87 kg), Ivan Yankovsky (130 kg), Maksut Sultanov (60 kg), Anatoliy Pasnak (72 kg), and Kyrylo Shnyryov (82 kg) – bronze medalists.
It should be noted that Ukrainian athletes also show impressive results in diving. At the 2025 European Championship among juniors, the Ukrainian team won first place in the team standings, earning 12 medals: 6 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze. Ukrainian athletes continue to amaze with their achievements on the international sports stage.
The Ukrainian team demonstrated impressive results at the U20 European Wrestling Championship and continues to confirm its sporting capabilities, inspiring fans and athletes to new achievements. The results of the teams in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling testify to the high level of training of Ukrainian athletes and the potential for further victories on the international stage.
