Defending Ukraine in memory of the mother who was killed by a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group. Let's remember Yuriy Kaporin.

Eternal memory to the hero - Yuriy Kaporin
Every day at 9 a.m. Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Yuriy Kaporin.
On May 11, 2025, 22-year-old grenade launcher Yuriy Kaporin fell near the village of Zeleny Hai in the Izyum area. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the Hlukhiv City Council and the Kyiv Professional College of Transport Infrastructure.
Yuriy was born on June 20, 2002, in the city of Hlukhiv, graduated from secondary school No. 2 and the Kyiv Professional College of Transport Infrastructure, and studied at Sumy National Agrarian University majoring in agronomy because he loved the nature of his homeland.
During his student years, which fell during wartime, the young man experienced a great tragedy. According to the college where Yuriy studied, his mother was a milk receiver. She was performing her job when in October 2023, an enemy sabotage group opened fire on the milk truck. The woman was 45 years old when she died at the hands of Russian occupiers.
“My mother and I had a very good relationship. She was a friend to me. I remember her as kind, persistent, and open. She always tried to help. And she worked despite the danger. She had almost no free Time. She had to wake up at 3-4 a.m. to go collect milk,” Yuriy recalled about his mother during the Memorial.
Yuriy had the opportunity not to go to military service, but after the loss of his mother, having signed a contract, he went to defend his country in memory of the closest person and all those taken by this war, joining the ranks of the Third Assault Brigade.
Calm, balanced, and kind, Yuriy became a brave grenade launcher in the assault brigade. He was at the hottest points of combat more than once.
“I am going to the 'zero' for 10-14 days,” Yuriy told his father Oleksandr Stanislavovych on May 9. Two days later, on May 11, 2025, the defender's life was cut short in the Izyum district, near the village of Zeleny Hai.
“Yuriy has forever remained on guard of our peace as a 22-year-old warrior-hero, faithful to the military oath. It is impossible to convey in words the pain of loss felt by Olena Andriivna Kalinina - Yuriy's grandmother, and Oleksandr Stanislavovych Kaporin, his father, for whom the hero was the meaning of life, support, and hope,” wrote the Hlukhiv City Council.
'Glavkom' joins in a moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died fighting for their homeland.
