Ukraine's Loss of F-16 Fighter Jet: Investigation Details Revealed.


The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the circumstances of the F-16 military aircraft crash during which Ukrainian pilot Oleksiy Mes died. Investigators have appointed 11 forensic examinations to determine the causes of the plane crash. This was reported by the SBI in a comment for «Suspilne».
Ukraine has appointed 11 forensic examinations to the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice. Among these examinations are a comprehensive commission military and engineering-transport forensics, computer-technical based on information from the seized flight recorder, merchandise expertise, medical forensics, and others.
Currently, the outlined expert investigations are ongoing to determine the causes of the crash.
The SBI emphasized that the final causes of the plane crash and the responsibility of specific individuals can be established only after forensic examinations and an assessment of other evidence.
Ukraine received F-16 fighter jets from its allies. However, on August 26th, one of them crashed, and pilot Oleksiy Mes died. This happened during a massive Russian attack on Ukraine when the pilot shot down three enemy missiles and a drone.
It is noted that the Pentagon does not assist Ukraine in the investigation into the loss of the first F-16 fighter. According to some assumptions, the Ukrainian F-16 aircraft crashed due to debris from a Russian missile.
