Drivers were informed about the illegality of the 'popular' fine: it can be ignored.

A problem has been identified in the new legislation regarding the transportation of children in vehicles. According to the Cabinet of Ministers' decision, the use of child seats is mandatory for children under 150 centimeters tall, regardless of age. Violations of this rule entail fines of 510 UAH and 850 UAH. However, as lawyers point out, the legislation does not specify the procedure for measuring height, responsible individuals, the method of measurement, and the necessary equipment for conducting such measurements.
According to lawyers, this flaw in the legislation allows anyone to contest any fine imposed under this article. Experts recommend that drivers who have received such fines appeal to the court to challenge them.
It should be noted that automotive fines remain the most common form of punishment for traffic violations in Ukraine, yet a significant portion of them is imposed in violation of the law.
