Travel abroad at the age of 17: without a certain document, Ukrainians will not be allowed to leave the country.

Currently, the condition of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine leads to some peculiarities regarding travel abroad for 17-year-old boys. Despite the general ban for men of conscription age, young people who have reached the age of 17 can leave the country under certain conditions. Lawyers of the portal "Free Legal Aid" explained this.
The main document that allows 17-year-olds to cross the border without hindrance is the conscription certificate, which confirms that the boy has been registered as a conscript. The accounting procedure is regulated by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 1487 "On approval of the Procedure for organization and maintenance of military records of conscripts, military servicemen, and reservists". According to paragraph 21 of this resolution, young men must be registered after reaching the age of 17.
The procedure for traveling abroad is regulated by the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 57 "On approval of the Rules for crossing the state border by citizens of Ukraine". This document is the basis for resolving issues related to additional permits at border control. The resolution clearly defines that young people under the age of 18 can cross the border without additional permits from the territorial recruitment and social support centers (TRS and SSC).
It is important to note that the presence of a conscription certificate provides sufficient grounds for leaving. Young men who have this document can cross the border without obtaining additional permits or certificates.
In addition, according to the new procedure, personal data of all Ukrainian men aged 16 to 60 will be entered into the unified register "Oberig".
