Emergency power outages have begun in Ukraine: recovery timelines announced.

Ukrenergo informs about emergency power outages
Ukrenergo has announced emergency power outages in several regions of Ukraine. These outages began on December 23 at 14:10. The reason for these forced cuts is the urgent need to replace damaged equipment due to shelling and the loss of generating capacity.
Estimated completion Time for work - by 17:00
According to the energy company's reports, recovery work is expected to be completed by 17:00. Energy workers are doing everything possible to restore damaged energy infrastructure facilities that were attacked by Russian forces.
Growing electricity consumption
Ukraine is experiencing a rise in electricity consumption. As of 9:30 on December 23, the consumption level was 2.5% higher compared to the previous working day. This was due to the start of the working week, overcast weather, and falling temperatures in many regions.
Power deficit in the energy system
Ukrenergo emphasizes that there is a significant power deficit in the energy system due to twelve mass attacks from Russia this year. To ensure the stable operation of the energy system, electricity is imported from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova, with a total amount of 9,259 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 1,042 MW at certain hours.
