The number of goods transported by containers by Ukrzaliznytsia in 9 months amounted to almost 197.9 thousand. This was reported by Valerii Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Commercial Department of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia".
"In the 9 months of 2024, the volume of cargo transportation in containers compared to the same period in 2023 increased by 47% and amounts to 197,897 TEU. This indicator is the highest in the last 7 years, and exceeds the volume of transportation for the same period of the peak year 2021 by +7%. Almost 62% of all container shipments occurred in export communications," he noted.
According to Tkachev, the largest share among the goods transported in containers by rail is grain cargoes - 44% of the total transportation volume.
