Ukrainians explained how to receive the first tranche of compensation for reconstruction on their own land plot.

During the first week of operation of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, citizens whose homes were destroyed received 152 million hryvnias in compensation for losses and the choice of a cash payment for reconstruction on their own land plot.

The Ministry of Development provided explanations regarding the process of receiving compensation.

Step 1: Submit a notice about the start of construction works or obtain a building permit. This can be done through the CNAP or the Diia portal.

If you already have a registered notice submitted after February 24, 2022, it can be used.

After registering the notice and its display in the Diia application, funds will be credited to you.

Step 2: Terminate ownership rights to the destroyed property. This can be done by a notary or a state registrar.

If you plan to build on the same land plot where your house used to be, make sure you have the necessary documents for the land before terminating ownership rights. This can be done at the relevant department of the local council.

Step 3: Submit a request for payment. This can be done in the Diia application, in the 'Payment for Construction' section in the ERestoration section.

To do this, you need to register a new ERestoration card at one of the partner banks of the program. The list of partners is available on the program's website or directly in the Diia application.

When filling out the request, the data of the registered notice about the start of construction works is automatically filled in.

If you have several construction objects, you must select the one you plan to use the compensation funds for.

Step 4: Payment of the first part of the funds. After updating the details, you will receive the first tranche of compensation, which is 50% of the total amount.

With this money you can:

• purchase building materials;
• pay for construction services;
• pay for the development of project estimates and other services related to the creation of a construction object.
