At the EU-Ukraine Defense Industry Forum in Brussels, a memorandum on cooperation was signed

The Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, Herman Smetanin, and the Secretary General of the Association of Aerospace, Security and Defense Industries of Europe, Jan Pie, signed an understanding regarding cooperation in the defense industry. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the European Defense Industries Association.

Smetanin emphasized that this memorandum is aimed at developing common interests of the Ukrainian industry and members of ASD. The agreement provides for strengthening cooperation and partnership between Ukrainian defense companies and members of ASD, as well as supporting the involvement of Ukrainian enterprises in EU programs such as the European Defense Fund (EDF) and Horizon Europe.

'We see a great interest from European companies and associations in the Ukrainian defense industry, and this interest is mutual. We aim to develop a partnership for the benefit of both sides. After all, we can strengthen our partners considering our experience, skills, and ability to quickly adapt to the needs of the front, applying innovations with lightning speed', Smetanin noted.

The main goal of the agreement is to improve the effectiveness of cooperation between the defense sectors of Ukraine and Europe. One of the first steps is the creation of the ASD Connect online platform for convenient communication between Ukrainian and European companies.

Analysis:

The signed memorandum will promote the development of the Ukrainian defense industry and its cooperation with European partners. This again confirms Europe's interest in cooperating with Ukraine and the possibility of our country joining European programs and initiatives in the defense industry.
