The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the World Bank held a meeting to discuss opportunities for expanding cooperation to stimulate the country's economic development.
'We are actively working on expanding our cooperation with the World Bank under the RISE program. We are also focusing on the I_CAN project, which trains specialists in project management and interactions with donors. We see demand for this initiative from communities. Moreover, the participation of the World Bank in financing, particularly the Ukraine Investment Framework, and expanding financing for the private sector through private investment funds is important to us,' said Oleksiy Sobolev, First Deputy Minister of Economy.
Deputy Minister of Economy Andriy Teliupa discussed the development of the housing real estate market and mortgage lending. He also stated that Ukraine is interested in cooperating with the World Bank to support the 'eOselya' program.
'We are interested in continuing cooperation with the World Bank in optimizing the 'eOselya' program and its financial support. This will help expand assistance for vulnerable groups and attract more Ukrainian and foreign banks to participate in the program,' noted Andriy Teliupa.
The parties also discussed the possibility of involving World Bank experts in creating an economic doctrine, investment, and industrial strategy for Ukraine.
'We want our Industrial Strategy to be practical and understandable for investors. We are interested in the support of the World Bank in developing this strategy, as they have significant experience in this area,' noted Andriy Teliupa.
After the meeting, the parties agreed to deepen cooperation in all discussed areas.
