A monument to Russian Admiral Fyodor Ushakov was installed in Mariupol

The temporarily occupied city of Mariupol, which is under Russian control, has once again witnessed the installation of a Russian monument. This Time, a bust of Admiral Fyodor Ushakov was brought from St. Petersburg, according to the Mariupol City Council.

As noted, the monument was installed near the Nakhimov Military School, located in Primorsky Park.

The City Council believes that in this way, the occupiers continue to promote Russian culture and the Russification of the city. Earlier, the occupiers installed a monument to Alexander Nevsky and memorial signs for the “heroes of the special military operation” who participated in the killings of peaceful Mariupol residents. However, the residents of the city themselves are dissatisfied with such policies.

It is also worth noting that the Russian occupiers have already dismantled the monument to the victims of the Holodomor, defenders of Ukraine, and destroyed all murals symbolizing the Mariupol citizens' struggle.

Let us recall that the occupiers opened a newly constructed railway connecting the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don with Mariupol through the crossing point on the Ukraine-controlled territory of Granitne/Malovodne.
