A bill has been registered in the Parliament to support persons with disabilities.


The Government of Ukraine has registered a bill that envisages amendments to the Civil Code of Ukraine to support persons with disabilities.
The aim of this bill is to create conditions for persons who have suffered an injury or occupational disease to regain their ability to work and become financially independent. In cases where returning to work is impossible, this bill also proposes to provide adequate support. The amendments to the Civil Code provide for compensation for damages arising from workplace accidents or occupational diseases.
These changes will help the health and employability of persons with disabilities and will provide them with the opportunity to return to the labor market through rehabilitation and social support. The assessment of employability will be conducted individually and anonymously.
The bill also provides for insurance payments for persons with disabilities who have a permanent limitation of capacity to work. This law will apply only to new insurance cases.
Since 2022, citizens who have received II and III groups of disability or have limited fitness for military service will have to undergo a medical examination at the MSEC or military medical institution for verification.
