Creation of a housing register for internally displaced persons

After the government approves the provisions for the creation of the relevant information and analytical system, the housing register for internally displaced persons will begin to operate.

According to the head of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada, Pavlo Frolov, the government plans to adopt an act that will define sources of information for the register and the procedure for providing housing for different categories of persons. Thus, this register will be used for better allocation of existing housing resources.

'There will be open access to the register. So IDPs will be able to see the objects and their technical condition on an interactive map,' Frolov noted.

Frolov also explained that all real estate objects, including residential buildings, unfinished constructions, non-residential premises, and land plots will be assessed. The assessment process will be conducted at the regional and local levels.

Additionally, the creation of the register will be carried out in cooperation with international partners, and for private objects, voluntary participation and the possibility of attracting investments are provided.

The announcement of the creation of a housing register for internally displaced persons indicates the beginning of an organized approach to the distribution of housing among those in need of support in their daily lives. The availability of information and the involvement of international partners can contribute to a more effective solution to the housing problem for internally displaced persons in Ukraine.
