Kyivstar assessed if they can ensure 10 hours of network operation without power.

Kyivstar plans to increase the autonomy of its network by 2025
The largest operator "Kyivstar" announced its plans to enhance the autonomy of its network. The announcement was made by the company's president, Aleksandr Komarov, at a conference organized by the European Business Association, and is currently the official announcement of the company.
At the moment, only 65% of "Kyivstar" base stations can operate without power supply for up to 4 hours, while the rest - only up to 2 hours. But the company plans to increase this Time to 6 hours for 30% of its network by the second quarter of 2025.
These plans are the company's response to new requirements by the State Special Communications Service, according to which mobile operators must ensure the availability of communication for 10 hours in case of a power outage. This is significantly more than the previous norm of 4 hours. The regulator has also set a deadline by the end of January 2025, by which 100% of the operators' base stations must be equipped with autonomous backup power.
Although the president of "Kyivstar" acknowledged that achieving full compliance with the new requirements is a challenge for the company, he emphasized that they are working on improvements and can increase the autonomous operation time to 6 hours.
