Typical Russian Tactics: What American Experts Are Saying About Putin's Position in Peace Negotiations.

Reaction of the Kremlin to the Proposal from the USA and Ukraine
The reaction of the Kremlin to the proposed 30-day ceasefire by the American and Ukrainian sides was expected and is typical of Russian negotiation tactics.
According to experts, the Kremlin's reaction to the ceasefire proposal was predictable. Many analysts see the Trump administration's intention to force Putin to accept more favorable terms for Ukraine. On one hand, Putin agreed to cease hostilities for 30 days, but on the other hand, he left the issue regarding the Kursk region open.
During a press conference, Putin urged Ukraine to use this Time to strengthen its positions and emphasized that the Russian army is continuously advancing. He also noted the difficulties in verifying compliance with the ceasefire regime along the entire front line and proposed to discuss the idea of a ceasefire with President Trump.
Experts view Putin's reaction as an attempt to draw the USA and Ukraine into lengthy negotiations while Russia continues to attack Ukrainians. They believe that the Trump administration should exert pressure on Russia to end the conflict.
For Putin, resolving the issues requires several conditions, such as a change of power in Ukraine, recognition of the occupied territories, Ukraine's permanent neutrality, demilitarization, and the absence of European troops to ensure the ceasefire, said an expert.
Analysts also point out the need to increase pressure on Russia from the USA. The Trump administration could impose economic sanctions and send more weapons to Ukraine to demonstrate to Putin that he cannot continue to wage war and compel him to engage in negotiations to cease the conflict.
It is important to note that the US Department of the Treasury has revoked the license for European banks cooperating with Russian financial institutions. This is another demonstration of the USA's readiness to impose sanctions against Russia.
Analysts believe that the USA should continue to pressure Russia, increase economic pressure, send more military aid to Ukraine, and explore the possibility of confiscating frozen Russian assets.
