The taxi driver who assaulted singer Tonya Matviyenko has been charged.

The police of Kyiv reported that the taxi driver who attacked the Honored Artist of Ukraine has been charged after the incident that occurred on June 30 in Pechersk in the capital. According to law enforcement, the singer, who used taxi services, contacted the police, stating that the driver attacked her during a conflict and fled.

The police quickly identified the driver and detained him. A 63-year-old Kyiv resident was charged with intentional minor bodily harm under the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He may face legal responsibility. Antonina Matviyenko stated that the driver was aggressive and unpleasant even before the trip began.

According to the police, the taxi driver attacked the Honored Artist of Ukraine during the trip and then fled. The incident occurred in the center of Kyiv, but thanks to the promptness of law enforcement, the offender was apprehended and charged. Such actions by the police give hope for the consideration of justice and the prevention of similar cases in the future.
