Supermarkets showed what is happening with prices for chicken and lard after the holidays.


According to the Minfin portal, the prices for chicken and lard in Ukraine changed in January 2025. Some items became cheaper, while others turned more expensive after the New Year holidays.
Chicken thighs increased in price from 115.34 UAH/kg to 120.97 UAH/kg, while the price of chicken drumsticks decreased from 74.99 UAH to 71 UAH per 1 kg. The price of a whole chicken remained unchanged at 85.60 UAH per 1 kg, while chicken fillet increased from 173.22 UAH/kg to 176.97 UAH/kg.
The price of domestic lard remained the same as last month at 234.00 UAH/kg. The lowest price for lard is 189.00 UAH/kg at MegaMarket, while the highest is 279.00 UAH/kg at Novus. The price of salted lard increased on average by 40 kopecks, reaching 242.80 UAH per 1 kg.
It is also worth noting that Auchan, Varus, and MegaMarket have set new prices for buckwheat, butter, and bread.
