Sumo wrestler from Crimea Davidko sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison for aiding the Russian army.

Crimean athlete Olga Davidko was sentenced to 12 years in prison for justifying Russia's military aggression and financing the Russian armed forces. This was reported by the SBU press service.
«According to the investigation, the defendant provides «targeted» assistance to 15 occupation groups and «takes care of» hospitals where wounded Russian soldiers are treated. Among other things, she organized the production of canned food rations, which she delivers to the occupiers along with equipment and ammunition. In addition, she communicates with pro-Russian media and justifies Russia's military aggression», - the SBU reported.
The athlete is in a territory not controlled by Ukraine, so efforts are ongoing to hold her accountable.
It should be noted that she accepted Russian citizenship and stated that she is ending her performances for the Ukrainian national team in sumo.
Olga Davidko became the first Ukrainian world champion in sumo. She participated in the reality show 'Weighing and Happy' on the STB television channel.
In an interview, one of the Ukrainian athletes told how her charge tried to evacuate her mother from the occupied city, but she refused. After a serious injury, the woman decided to return to the occupied territory, despite differing views.
Another athlete, who served in the National Guard of Ukraine, went to Russia and stated that she is Russian by nationality.
These women have left Ukraine and justify Russian aggression, but we must not forget all the other athletes who leave a positive mark in the history of our country.
