Russia sets record for oil shipments in the Arctic.

A record amount of oil has passed through the Northern Sea Route
In 2024, Russia set a record amount of oil through the Northern Sea Route (NSR) during the current navigation period, according to the American agency Bloomberg.
According to available data, at least 15 tankers have passed through the NSR with approximately 10.7 million barrels of crude oil. Last year, during the navigation season, 14 vessels transported about 10.5 million barrels of fuel via the Northern Sea Route.
There is still at least a month left in 2024 before the 'waters become too icy and dangerous for transit,' Bloomberg notes. According to the agency's estimate, considering possible voyages, the volume of oil shipments via the NSR may exceed 14.4 million barrels.
Earlier, the Reuters agency predicted an increase in the volumes of Russian oil maritime exports in October 2024 due to issues at oil refineries (refineries).
