The EU Representative Calls on the UN Not to Leave Russia's Crimes Unpunished.

The Permanent Representative of the European Union to the United Nations, Stavros Lambrinidis, stated that Russia and its leadership must bear full responsibility for local and war crimes against Ukraine and international law, and they must be punished for it. He also emphasized that Russia uses food as a weapon and undermines global food security. According to Lambrinidis, if Russia's international crimes remain unpunished, it threatens a "very dark world."
The EU representative noted that Russia and its leadership must be held accountable for military aggression and other grave crimes, as well as for the damage caused by the war. He mentioned arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court, including warrants for the arrest of the President of the Russian Federation.
Stavros Lambrinidis stressed the EU's support for the peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine based on the UN Charter and requires the withdrawal of Russian troops from the entire territory of the country. He also called on all countries seeking a fair and lasting peace to convey this message to the UN leadership of Russia.
The representative of the European Union also calls on third countries to cease any assistance to Russia in its aggressive war. He concludes that the EU will continue to support Ukraine and defend the UN Charter in response to Russian aggression, and they will do so as long as necessary.
