Distribution of pensioners by types and sizes of pensions in Ukraine
According to the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the total number of pensioners in the country is 10.3 million people. The average pension is 5,341.11 hryvnias. Of this number, 2.9 million people continue to work and receive an average pension of 6,862.85 hryvnias.
By types of pensions, the largest share (72.5%) accounts for pensions by age. Pensions for disability are received by 15.24% of pensioners, 6.61% in case of loss of the breadwinner, 5.08% for length of service, 0.53% for social pensions, and 0.04% for lifetime maintenance of judges.
The statistics on pension sizes show significant changes compared to last year. The share of pensioners receiving less than 3,000 hryvnias decreased (from 26.84% to 3.86%), while the percentage of those receiving from 3,000 to 4,000 hryvnias increased (from 11.27% to 32.33%). The number of pensioners receiving from 4,000 to 5,000 hryvnias also increased (from 18.61% to 20.38%), from 5,000 to 10,000 hryvnias (from 25.22% to 28.82%), and over 10,000 hryvnias (from 12.06% to 14.51%).
