The Ukrainian defense forces reported that Russian troops are using munitions containing dangerous chemical substances, which is a violation of international warfare regulations.
Russia violates all rules of warfare, including the Vienna Conventions on the non-use of chemical weapons. This is a serious crime. Russia ignores the position of the international community, including China, India, and Brazil, who also oppose the use of such methods, calling it actions of a terrorist,' stated Malomuz.
Alongside conventional means of fire damage, Russian troops are using munitions containing chemical substances such as K-51 and RG-VO. Such means are prohibited for use in warfare, but they can be used to combat civil unrest.
There is also an observed use of munitions that contain dangerous chemical compounds of unknown origin.
Russian troops use such munitions where it is impossible to breach Ukrainian defensive positions. They use chemical means to suppress resistance, confuse soldiers and commanders, and induce panic. Russia tests these means directly on the front line, although such use is prohibited,' emphasized Malomuz.
The law enforcement agencies of Ukraine have documented such actions by Russian troops, and in the future, they will be considered crimes against humanity.
