Tour operators heavily fined in Italy
The Italian Antitrust Authority (AGCM) fined a ticket sales company and six tour operators nearly 20 million euros for purchasing tickets to the Roman Colosseum. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to Tuoitre News.

The Italian Antitrust Authority fined a ticket sales company and six tour operators nearly 20 million euros for the illegal practice of purchasing tickets to the Roman Colosseum. This situation resulted in the unavailability of tickets at normal prices and forced consumers to buy them at higher prices bundled with other services. Interested parties used additional programs for the rapid purchase of tickets, which led to their depletion on the official seller’s website.

This fact did not go unnoticed, and following numerous complaints from consumers about unfair ticket purchasing conditions for the Colosseum, an investigation was launched, which concluded with the imposition of fines. Such actions by the authority will contribute to the control of ethical standards in the ticket selling sector and the protection of consumer rights.
