Prices for Ukrainian greenhouse cucumbers have decreased due to low demand. According to analysts from EastFruit, as of December 13, cucumbers are sold for 80-110 hryvnias per kilogram, which is 11% cheaper than last week. Market operators explain this situation by stating that wholesale companies and retail chains are reluctant to purchase large batches of vegetables due to slow sales. As a result, significant volumes of cucumbers have accumulated in warehouses, gradually losing their quality.
Despite this, greenhouse cucumbers are still 21% more expensive than in the same period last year.
The majority of market participants consider this situation temporary and predict a possible price increase in the near future. It has also become known how prices for potatoes and tomatoes have changed in December.
