Chief of General Staff General Barhylevych: Fighting in Kursk is tougher than fighting in Donbas.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Anatoliy Barhylevych, in an exclusive interview with 'Glavkom', discussed the difficult situation at the front. In particular, he stated that serious battles are taking place in Kursk involving elite Russian infantry and paratroopers. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are successfully holding their positions and conducting maneuvering battles.
For them (the leadership of Russia, - 'Glavkom') this is a crucial issue, Kursk region. Intense battles are ongoing there. Compared to other fronts, the fighting in Kursk is quite heavy. Everyone understands that it is not just regular infantry fighting there, but elite Russian infantry and paratroopers. But we are holding our positions there. We are conducting maneuvering battles, holding onto that territory, and believe me, quite successfully.
About 50,000 enemy troops, including naval infantry and airborne forces, as well as 11,000 North Korean soldiers, are in Kursk. The general also noted that in Donbas, the enemy continues to advance, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine have managed to stabilize the situation in the Pokrovsk direction and are holding their positions.
Currently, Ukrainian forces control Kupiansk and Chasiv Yar, but heavy fighting continues in the Kupiansk area. The situation is also complicated in Toretsk due to the battles in urban development.
According to the Institute for the Study of War, Russian troops have made progress in the Kursk region and in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Additionally, Ukrainian troops have advanced north of Kharkiv.
According to analyst Julian Röpcke from Bild, Russian troops have entered the center of Chasiv Yar in Donetsk. It is noteworthy that the fighting in this area has been ongoing for over six months.
According to analysts at Deep State, the enemy has occupied Nova Illyinka in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region. The Russians have also advanced near Dalne, Antonivka, Pustynka, and in Toretsk.
