Massive failure of Visa and MasterCard - payments and transfers are not working: what monobank and PrivatBank are saying.

The failure of Visa and Mastercard paralyzed card payments and cash withdrawals
On Saturday, March 9, news of a massive failure in the payment systems Visa and Mastercard became known. As a result, users were unable to make payments with cards or withdraw cash. This was reported by Downdetector.
This failure caused concern among citizens and businessmen, as it disrupted the usual rhythm of life and created inconveniences, especially on the weekend, when many people planned to make purchases.
According to Downdetector, problems with MasterCard began around 9:40 AM, while issues with Visa started at 10:20 AM. Users in Ukraine also noticed problems with payments using bank cards.
At the same Time, PrivatBank responded to a user's request, stating that they are looking into the issues.
'There may currently be difficulties in carrying out some operations. Our specialists are already working to resolve the issues; we apologize for the temporary inconveniences,' the message said.
EP also contacted the support of monobank with a request. They were informed that problems exist only with MasterCard.
'At this moment (11:36 - ed.), we are aware of the difficulties in the operation of the MasterCard payment system. Because of this, there are problems with transfers, cancellations of operations may occur, and payments with cards of this payment system may fail. Unfortunately, difficulties are occurring in many banks,' said monobank.
The inquiry to Visa has not yet received a response.
