Lithuanian Customs Detain Camouflage Nets for Cannons
Lithuanian customs officers discovered and detained camouflage nets intended for concealing cannon barrels. They were found in the mail cars of the Kaliningrad-Moscow train during an inspection at the Kibartai railway station. This is reported by lrt.
On Friday, border guards found seven packages containing 22 camouflage nets. The documents indicated that they were intended for concealing cannon barrels. The recipients of the packages are located in the Belgorod region of Russia, which borders Ukraine.
On Sunday, another batch with two camouflage nets was found.
Suspicions Regarding the Use of Nets
Customs officers believe that the camouflage nets might be intended for Russian military personnel involved in combat operations against Ukraine.
«An investigation has been launched in connection with the seizure. If it is found that the camouflage nets are a violation of the rules for transporting military equipment and ammunition, the cargo will be considered a violation of international sanctions», the publication writes.
Lithuanian customs are transferring the confiscated nets to Ukraine as aid.
