In the western part of Ukraine, snow is falling, especially heavily in Prykarpattia, Zakarpattia, and in Bukovina. The temperature in the mountains has dropped to minus six degrees Celsius. Mountain rescuers have showcased the snow-covered peak of Pip Ivan.

In the Rakhiv district, 15 cm of snow has fallen, and it has been snowing in Dragobrat for several days, also covering the village of Selyatin in Vyzhnytsia. Meteorologists forecast that on May 13-14, there will be no precipitation at night in Ukraine, but small rains are possible during the day. The following day, precipitation is expected in the western and northern regions, while the rest of the territory will have dry weather.

Weather forecast

The wind will be north-west, later turning to south-west, with a speed of 5 to 12 m/s. On May 15, gusts of wind are expected to reach 15-18 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, with frost in some areas on the ground surface; during the day, temperatures will rise from 10 to 15 degrees Celsius, with up to 18 degrees possible in the south and east of the country.

In the high mountain peaks of the Carpathians, light rain is expected, and on May 15, moderate rain and wet snow are predicted. It will remain cool over the next week, but stabilization and warming are expected from May 20.

In April of this year, a record snowfall was recorded in Moscow and the region, exceeding all previous May metrics in 116 years. Against this backdrop, it is important to be prepared for unexpected changes in weather, especially in the mountainous regions of the country.
