Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky immediately reacted to Russia's proposal for a ceasefire for 2-3 days to collect the bodies of fallen soldiers: 'They are ready for a ceasefire for 2-3 days to retrieve the dead from the battlefield. I think they are idiots, because, in principle, a ceasefire is needed to prevent casualties,' Zelensky stated.

Prisoner Exchange

During the negotiations, agreements were reached on a large-scale exchange of prisoners of war between Ukraine and Russia. An exchange of '1000 for 1000' is planned, along with a possible additional exchange of '200 for 200'. The President noted that the issue of exchanging military personnel, political prisoners, and journalists was raised.

Controversial Situation with Russia's Proposal

Zelensky also reported a controversial situation with Russia's proposal to hand over only ten abducted children to Ukraine, while the Ukrainian side provided lists of nearly 400 abducted children. This caused outrage from Ukraine, which is accused of provocations: 'We told them that you stole 20 thousand, and they said that we did not steal 20 thousand, at most the question is about a hundred,' Zelensky commented.

Idea of a Four Leaders Meeting

Zelensky supports the idea of holding a meeting in the format of four leaders: Ukraine, Russia, the USA, and Turkey, but expressed doubts regarding a ceasefire without the participation of all relevant leaders. He also noted certain positive changes in the behavior of the Russian delegation but remains skeptical about the possibility of finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Coordination of Sanction Pressure on Russia

Zelensky also reported the possibility of coordinating sanction pressure on Russia from the USA and the EU, which could open opportunities for imposing sanctions in case of non-compliance with the agreements reached during the negotiations.

Volodymyr Zelensky demonstrated a decisive position in relations with Russia, refusing a short-term ceasefire, calling such a proposal 'idiocy,' and expressing outrage over the situation with the transfer of children. Also, the potential coordination of sanction pressure on Russia between Ukraine, the USA, and the EU turned out to be an important step in the peaceful resolution of the conflict.
