The government team CERT-UA, which operates under the State Service of Special Communications, has uncovered a new wave of phishing attacks targeting accountants of Ukrainian companies.
"Criminals send emails that mimic messages from the State Tax Service of Ukraine. These emails contain PDF documents with a link to a file service where an archive is located. Opening its contents will result in the installation of malicious software on the computer, providing criminals with remote access to it," reported the State Service of Special Communications.
Experts reminded that this activity has financial motives and is carried out by the group UAC-0050.
"Accountants of companies that use remote banking systems are at risk. In some cases, less than an hour passes from the moment of the attack to the theft of funds," the message says.
