Supplement not for everyone: pensioners explained who is entitled to age allowances.

Ukrainian pensioners received an explanation regarding why some of them do not receive supplements at the age of 65. According to the publication 'On Pension', the Ukrainian Pension Fund informs citizens about various types of pension payments, but this may lead to misunderstandings and incorrect expectations.
According to current legislation, pensioners are provided with additional payments upon reaching a certain age. For example, individuals who reach 70 years of age receive a monthly compensation of up to 300 hryvnias. For citizens aged 75 years, this amount increases to 456 hryvnias, and pensioners over the age of 80 receive an additional payment of up to 570 hryvnias per month. It is important to note that these payments are assigned regardless of the length of service.

Moreover, pensioners aged 65 and above are provided with special pension benefits. Non-working pensioners receive an increased minimum pension if they have the necessary length of service: no less than 30 years for women and 35 years for men. In this case, the minimum amount of pension constitutes 40% of the minimum wage. For 2025, this amounts to 3200 hryvnias (with a minimum wage of 8000 hryvnias).
The provisions on payments were introduced in 2018 in accordance with the Law 'On Mandatory State Pension Insurance'. Since 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers has established an even higher level of minimum payments. From March 1, 2025, the minimum pension for non-working women with 30 years of service increased from 3370 to 3758 hryvnias. These changes were approved by the resolution No. 209 dated February 25, 2025.
The article reveals the reasons why some pensioners do not receive supplements at 65 and explains the various types of pension payments. It also states that the amount of pension may vary depending on the length of service and the status of the pensioner. These conclusions are based on current legislation and the changes made.
