Day of Statehood - what Odessa residents know about it.

July 15 is the Day of Statehood of Ukraine, a holiday celebrated on the day of remembrance of Prince Volodymyr the Great and the anniversary of the baptism of Rus. This date emphasizes the historical continuity of the Ukrainian state from the times of Kyivan Rus to the present day. However, despite the official recognition and patriotic accents, for many Ukrainians, this holiday remains somewhat formal.
