Taking a Vow of Poverty: Media Reveals Personal Wealth of the Pope.

Last Sunday, Pope Francis passed away. He had access only to the Vatican's assets, but did not accumulate personal wealth. This was reported by Deccan Herald.
The media reminded that Jorge Mario Bergoglio (the pontiff's real name) took a vow of poverty when he joined the Jesuits. 'Pope Francis never received money from the church, even before he was called the new Pope. He always remained true to his Jesuit philosophy,' the article states.
In 2013, he also refused the salary due to the Pope, which was about $32,000 per month. 'He decided to donate this amount to the church, place it in a trust fund, or give it to a family member, or simply use it for charity,' journalists write.
Thus, Francis did not have personal wealth, although he had access to assets accumulated by the Vatican. 'The income he generated for the Vatican is considered part of his own capital, even if he did not use money received from the Catholic Church,' analyzes Deccan Herald.
Journalists also reminded that the Pope had five cars at his disposal.
The media also calculated the annual expenses for maintaining Francis and funding his activities. We're talking about a sum of about $100,000. The Pope repeatedly allocated funds from the Vatican for charitable work during his pontificate. The money went, in particular, to victims of armed conflicts and natural disasters.
Interestingly, one of the last words of the Pope was a word of thanks to his personal health assistant Massimiliano Strappetti for convincing the pontiff to make one last car trip after the traditional Urbi et Orbi message ('To the City and the World') on April 20.
It should be noted that Pope Francis died of a cerebral stroke, coma, and irreversible cardiac-circulatory collapse, as reported by the Vatican. The medical report noted that he had previously suffered an episode of acute respiratory failure against the backdrop of bilateral multi-resistant pneumonia, multiple bronchiectasis, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes.
On April 21, the ceremony to confirm his death took place, and Francis' body was placed in a coffin in the chapel on the first floor of the Domus Sanctae Marthae. The funeral of Pope Francis will take place on Saturday, April 26, at 10:00 AM. Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, the dean of the College of Cardinals, will officiate the Holy Mass.
