Dayana Yastremska loses in the final of the tournament in Nottingham.


Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska suffered defeat in the final of the WTA 250 grass tournament in Nottingham against American McCartney Kessler. The match ended with a score of 2:0 in sets - 6:4, 7:5 in favor of Kessler. This match was the first of Yastremska's career on grass and allowed her to rise to the top position among Ukrainian tennis players who reached finals in WTA tournaments on all surface types.
McCartney Kessler, who is ranked 42nd in the world, has already won two WTA 250 tournaments in 2025. The first set of the match, affected by rain interruptions, ended with an American victory at 6:4.
The first set went on with rain breaks, and Kessler adapted better to the conditions, going ahead 5:2. Yastremska managed to reduce the deficit, but the set went to the American - 4:6.
In the second set, the American again showed her strength, defeating the Ukrainian with a score of 7:5. Overall, Dayana spent 1 hour and 44 minutes on the court, marking four aces and saving 11 break points, showing 67% first serve accuracy.
