Man tried to bring elite alcohol worth one million hryvnias into Ukraine.

Customs officers at Lviv customs discovered a smuggling operation at the 'Korczowa-Krakowiec' border crossing. The minibus driver declared only personal belongings, but during the vehicle inspection, they found 107 bottles of alcoholic beverages, including whiskey, brandy, grappa, and cognac. This is vintage and collectible alcohol, much of which is produced in Italy.
The customs officials valued this smuggling operation at 1 million hryvnias and drew up a protocol against the violator for failure to declare goods that are subject to legislative restrictions. The man faces a fine of 5.1 thousand UAH or a significant number of tax-exempt minimums for citizen income, as well as confiscation of the goods.
It is worth noting that French champagne producers sold less alcohol in 2024 compared to the previous year. This indicates the problems faced by the wine industry in France. Young consumers prefer healthier options, especially non-alcoholic drinks, which is why red wine consumption has been declining for the past 20 years. White, rosé, and sparkling wines are gaining popularity.
