Chmykh wins two medals at the World Weightlifting Championship for Youth.


Ukrainian weightlifter Volodymyr Chmykh became a prizewinner at the World Championship for young athletes. This was reported by 'Hlavkom' referencing the Base of Ukrainian Sports.
Volodymyr Chmykh received two medals in the weight category over 102 kg in the U-17 group. In the snatch, he took fourth place with a result of 143 kg, while in the clean and jerk, he earned a silver medal with a result of 180 kg.
Overall, with a result of 323 kg in the total, Chmykh won a bronze medal.
It is also worth noting that Serhiy Kotelevskyi became the absolute world champion in weightlifting among U17 boys. He won in both events, in the snatch with a result of 142 kg and in the clean and jerk with a result of 172 kg. With a total result of 314 kg, he secured a gold medal.
Starting from the younger category, Ukrainian weightlifters continue to win medals at international competitions. Besides Volodymyr Chmykh and Serhiy Kotelevskyi, Kateryna Malashchuk also won silver in the weight category up to 45 kg among girls. She showed a result of 69 kg in the snatch, 81 kg in the clean and jerk, and 150 kg in total.
Thus, Ukrainian weightlifters continue to demonstrate high results in world competitions and confirm their potential and talent in this sport.
