Price fluctuations in the vegetable market

Supermarkets have published new prices for popular vegetables, reports the Minfin portal. With the approach of the end of the spring season, consumers increasingly choose fresh seasonal products, which affects the price of basic vegetables.

Potatoes, one of the most demanded vegetables, has increased by 6.7% compared to the previous month, reaching an average price of 34.43 UAH per kilogram. The price turned out to be particularly high at the Megamarket chain, where the price reached 43.50 UAH per kilogram. The segment of young potatoes is experiencing the most significant growth, with prices more than doubling to 85.80 UAH per kilogram.

The prices for cabbage, on the contrary, have decreased for consumers. Young cabbage has become cheaper by 8.1% on average, costing 78.77 UAH per kilogram. The best price is offered in the Auchan chain, but white cabbage has risen in price by 32.6%.

The onion market is experiencing a significant increase in prices. The average price of onion has risen by 40.5% to 29.86 UAH per kilogram, red onions have increased by 76.9%, while young onions are sold for 51.90 UAH.

Carrots have also become more expensive. Regular carrots have increased by 16.8% to 49.90 UAH per kilogram. Young carrots appeared on the market at a price of 112.40 UAH per kilogram.

In connection with this, it is worth paying attention to the changes in the vegetable market and their impact on consumers, who may change their product choices depending on prices and quality.
