Ukrainian Defense Industry Increased Its Capacities Threefold – Up to $35 Billion.

The production potential of the Ukrainian defense industry has risen from $12 to $35 billion
At the EU-Ukraine Defense Industry Forum in Brussels, Ukraine's Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin announced that the production capabilities of Ukraine's military-industrial complex have increased from $12 to $35 billion. He noted that currently over 30% of the weapons used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine are produced domestically.
The minister emphasized the importance of development and innovation in the domestic and European defense industries, as Russia continues to increase its defense capabilities. To achieve this goal, Ukraine and the EU need to jointly address a number of issues, including the lack of investment and the absence of unified standards in arms production.
Joint Efforts for Victory
To improve the situation, Smetanin proposed integrating the Ukrainian defense sector into the European system and developing joint research, production, and training. He stated:
'Joint research and production, joint supply chains and training of Ukrainian forces will not only help Ukraine to win, but it will be a victory for the European Union. So let's create an arsenal of the free world together'.
The Ukrainian minister believes that such steps will not only strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities but also contribute to collective European security in the face of aggression.
